  • suspicious packages...

So, there was one suspicious package discovered near my office which shut down the streets and required all sorts of emergency personnel to show up and people evacuated (not my office, of course, since we would have to be on fire for a while or someone personally blow up before that happened - aren't we brave?)... and then later in the afternoon, the bomb squad showed up downtown and another drama played out for a couple more hours.  Neither incident was what it seemed.  The first one was a package of food, and a person got sick for unrelated reasons. Moral: don't eat food from a box if you are already sick.  The second one was a box of jewelry-making items? Moral: don't have your QVC orders mailed to your office!

That was my day. How was yours?

  • been away too long..

Where have all the interesting people gone?? I need more Edgebreaks, giantsis, democrabs, and ReeserTheShadows out there. Those with interesting ideas.  Those that inspire. Those that speak and have something to say... (unlike me, at the moment).

  • The Bill of Wrongs

    1. We live in a country that says "separation of church and state" yet our money has In God We Trust, burning a US flag is considered "speech" and you can protest only if you have a permit otherwise you get pepper-sprayed.

    2. There are those that say guns don't kill people, people kill people.  Well, a person with a gun can kill a person a lot more handily than a person without.  People love their guns more than the people they kill anyway.  I say, via la sword!

    3. Personal privacy is a joke these days, although so nice of them not to force us to "quarter" any soldiers.

    4. If you are hiding illegal stuff in your home, rest assure that no one is allowed to look for it unless they have a warrant.  Also, if they find it without a warrant, that evidence will be thrown out.  Good for you, using the system to get away with something!

    5. If you commit a crime and get a really good liar... I mean, lawyer... to defend you and get you off, you can't go back to court if they find out you really did do it. Nyah nyah!  And if you did something REALLY bad, you get to hang out for an indictment. And if they read your Miranda rights wrong (haha), you can use that as a defense to get off, as well.  Oh yeah, you don't have to tell anyone you did anything wrong even if you did.

    6. I don't know the definition of a "speedy" public trial, but it's a lie.  You're going to be in the system for a while, but at least you can get a free lawyer.  You know how people say "Innocent until proven guilty"?  I think that's just something people say, otherwise, the "accused" wouldn't spend time in jail awaiting trial.  They'd be home watching Tv.

    7. Nothing like a jury summons to ruin your day just because someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time, minding their own business.  Your first day of jury service is your duty as an American citizen, then they pay you $20 a day, even though your office only allows 3 days out with pay, then you are on your own. Depending on where you live, this could go on for weeks!

    8. If you do something bad, rest assure, you won't have to pay too much to get back out on the street to continue doing bad things until you are seen in court.

    9. Rules are not meant to be understood and are open to many interpretations, which makes them the center of debate and is what people thrive on! Controversy, uncertainty.  The unknown is so mysterious and makes life interesting. Rules to live by!

    10. If anything was forgotten, I'm sure someone will tell someone.

  • Making a scene...

    Have you ever?

I was thinking about this lady at Wawa that I see occasionally that I really want to beat with my purse, but that type of action is frowned upon in general society.  She goes up to the cappuccino machine, fills her cup halfway with french vanilla, then dumps in partially out, puts in toffee cappuccino, then dumps that out, and continues to do this until she has about 5 flavors mixed together and has made a complete mess out of the machine.  Last time I saw her, I did a rather loud "Really?" but she paid me no mind.  Next time I see her, I will make a scene! You know other people have to use this machine after you and you were completely disrespectful of that fact. Ignorant slob.

Meanwhile, I do remember a time where I couldn't stand it anymore and actually did get up after 30 minutes into a movie and told two 12-year-old girls to shut up or I'd call someone in to remove them from the theater.  They were talking so loud and giggling about something other than the movie and I just snapped...!

I think EA should come out with a Simpson's Sims game, where you can create a character that looks like a Simpson (i.e. yellow skin, googley eyes, overbite, etc.) and the town would be, of course, Springfield. You could create a family of your own and you too could be neighbors with Flanders! EA o

When: 1994 It was around 1994, but I'm not sure exactly. I needed the final video in my Tenchi Universe collection, so my dad drove me to Dover, Delaware to the Suncoast Pictures there. Unfortunately, they didn't have the video in stock. (I needed the final video so I could send away for a stuff

I'd like to give a little shout out to my xanga friend darlene. She has a great mind in that head of hers. It's amazingly compelling to read her blog posts. They get your mind thinking... brushes the cobwebs away. I really do appreciate her. Yay, darlene!!
